Happy Faces of Sandy – Announcement

photography event will be at Sandy Carnival!

Everyone is welcome to take part in this event at Sandye Place Academy on Saturday 8 June.
Sandy Photography Club’s project will be to capture a historical snapshot of the many happy faces of Sandy – we did a similar project last year at the ‘Party on Potton’ Big Weekend, with great success.
An on-site photo studio with backdrop and lighting will be set up to take portrait photographs of individuals, families or friends which can be emailed to participants.
This event will give SPC an opportunity to integrate further with the local community, promoting the club, and demonstrating the enjoyment of photography.
The images taken at Sandy Carnival will be used to create an exhibition, and will also be published on SPC’s website and social media community groups. Following the Carnival, the intention is that SPC will set up local exhibitions for the public, at venues in Sandy and surrounding towns/villages.

If you would like to become a member of SPC and learn about portrait photography, using our equipment, you would be more than welcome to come and meet and talk with us at this event.

Carlos Santino, SPC’s founder member, as a professional photographer, will be directing and supporting the photo shoot sessions.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us.

All the best to you ๐Ÿ™‚

I cannot wait to see your smiling, happy faces!

Dear SPC Members and Friends,

I am very impatient to meet you all at the next General Meeting, which will be on Saturday 13th April at 9.45am at Bedford Road, Willington.

Thank you for attending the last workshop. I am happy we could spend time together practising photo shoots. Special thanks to David, who joined us as a new member for the first time.

Cannot wait to see you again!

Workshop XVII – Looking for Spring in Macro

Dear SPC Members and Friends!

I propose that we have Workshop XVII “Looking for Spring in Macro” on Saturday, 6th April at the RSPB.

We will meet on that day at 09.30-45 at Sandy Library in order to car share to the RSPB – the parking charges are now ยฃ6 for those without RSPB membership, so car sharing is preferable to share the cost. If you wish to go straight there, we will meet in the car park at The Lodge, Potton Road, Sandy, Bedfordshire, SG19 2DL at 9.45-10am.

Could you let me know if you are interested in coming along for this Workshop XVII, and also let me know if you want to car share, or meet us at The Lodge.

For equipment, please bring with you tripod, a wide range of lenses (macro preferred, or extension tubes), and your camera!

Before we start shooting we will have a quick meeting (20-30 mins) to discuss ideas and camera settings, so please give some thought to what image you want to create as we can discuss how it can be achieved.

I can’t wait to meet you again!

All the best to you ๐Ÿ™‚
